Today’s tip on how to help an addicted loved one recover comes from my book “Unhooked, How To Help An Addicted Loved One Recover”. Remember, to allow your loved one his natural consequences. This can be the hardest thing because natural consequences create pain in our loved ones, and it’s hard to see them in pain. But just remember that it’s those natural consequences that actually create ambivalence. It helps them to start to consider the possibility and the importance of changing their behavior and getting sober and possibly changing their life. So just remember to allow your loved one their natural consequences.
