Primary Blog/Recovery Tip 14 – Remember Our Personal Boundaries

Today’s tip on how to help an addicted loved one recover is to remember our personal boundaries. The more time we spend working on our own self improvement, it is easier to set up and hold boundaries. Remember that any attempt to force or manipulate or shame an addicted person to change won’t do the trick. When we become free of anger through this process, rapport and trust will flourish, and our ability to influence where we magnified. In fact, resentment is the number one offender, and we learn that in the rooms of recovery. So it is vital that we work on our personal boundaries, both physical and emotional.
